1.19 Upgrade Progress
Mojang/Microsoft have now been released the new version of Minecraft and we are excited to get this update running on the server, but there is a ton of work by the Drustcraft Team and Plugin Developers that needs to happen before we can flick the switch.
1.19.1 introduces signed chat which enables automatic chat filtering by Microsoft as well as allowing players to report other players directly to Microsoft. Under this new system, it appears that once a player is reported, they will automatically have their Microsoft/Minecraft account banned from playing Minecraft on any server. We are against this policy as it can be easily abused. Feedback has been sent to Microsoft from hundreds of Minecraft servers around this decission and we are awwaiting their response.
Minecraft 1.19 added some changes internally such as packets can no longer be modified and are required to be completely reconstructed each time. This means that any plugins that modifies Minecraft packets (or requires ProtocolLib) may require a large update to be compatible with 1.19.
